1. Ethical, Responsible, and Sustainable Jewelry

Consumers worldwide have increasingly started to purchase from jewelers selling ethical and sustainable jewelry. Consumers want to feel confident that the products they use don’t harm the Earth and that workers have treated fairly along every step of the manufacturing and supply process. Jewelers have thus started to change their practices and boast their existing eco-friendly practices. Recycled precious minerals, ethically sourced stones that are not from conflict areas and transparency in the manufacturing and sourcing process are some of the ways jewellers are doing this.  

2. Secondhand Jewelry

Continuing with sustainability, there has been an increase in the market of pre-owned jewellery. More young customers are attracted to buying worn jewelry not just because of sustainability but also because of the increased affordability of the market.  

3. Gemstones

Increasing numbers of customers are now interested in buying unique gemstones. Along with increasing sales of the usual sapphires, rubies and emeralds, demand for stones such as amethyst, aquamarine, citrine and moonstones is also experiencing an increase. More and more young couples look at these affordable semi-precious stones to allow a larger and more unique centre stone for their rings.

5. Lab-Grown Diamonds

Synthetic diamonds are an emerging trend in the jewelry market. The increased demand is partly because they are much more affordable and cost up to 30% lesser on average. Another factor is that they are seen as more ethical, as they completely remove the risk of the diamond being sourced from a conflicted area or the mining process being harmful to the environment.
